Captivate On Hold CEO Mark Horwood is an ideas man and has run businesses in Perth, Western Australia, for more than 40 years. He began his professional life studying Electrical Engineering from Curtin University, had a stint as a public servant and later worked for Belgian industrial group Schneider Empain. Mark has also been a Roy Weston real estate franchisor. After a trip to the USA in the early 1990s, Mark noticed an emerging service in the US not then available in Australia – the mortgage originator. He started up the first mortgage origination business in Australia in 1992 – that is now owned by Smartline. Captivate’s Beginnings

Mark started Captivate On Hold, in 1995, in a rented room above a bakery in South Perth and renamed his real estate company to Digital Marketing Australia Pty Ltd. Mark said Captivate On Hold’s products are world class but one of his biggest challenges has been convincing customers that a Perth technology product is better than one from America.

Captivate’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) / Charity Work

Mark Horwood has been deeply committed to international and Australian CSR work. His enthusiasm, ideas, and hands-on involvement have helped charities in places like Perth Australia and Lao benefit for worthwhile causes

Mark was the founder and has been the chairman of the Truffle Producers WA Association and, as a member of the Rotary Club of Mill Point, has helped to raise more than $600,000 for charity. Mark has expert knowledge in business telephony, hosted IP telephony and the global telecoms sector.
