CSR VIETNAM

A trip to Vietnam at the beginning of 2018 revealed the plight of those suffering from leprosy in many Asian countries. The trip was eye-opening and what encouraged Mark to work with the World Health Organization (WHO) to help gain approval for Global Hand to become an accredited non-government organisation (NGO) in Vietnam. Once accredited, Mark is committed to working in partnership with the WHO and other NGO’s to raise the necessary funds to help eradicate leprosy, initially, in Vietnam and then moving onto India.

“Recently, we were able to provide a water filtration plant for an entire village in remote Vietnam, for the provision of clean drinking, for $8,000.” – Mark Horwood

“We can eradicate Leprosy if we can get enough support from the business community” – Mark Horwood
Every year Mark sits on numerous boards and committees to help provide assistance and aid to those suffering from poverty and disease around the world. With multiple trips overseas to volunteer and help manage teams of volunteers, he claims that the benefits are far greater than simply writing a cheque.

GLOBAL HAND CHARITY

“Corporate Social Responsibility is more than simply writing a cheque for a charity.” – Mark Horwood

Global Hand Charity is one of only a handful of charities that do not have any staff or overhead costs. All volunteers self-fund their own airfares, accommodation, and food to assure that 100% of any cash donations received directly goes to assisting people in need.

“We can provide prescription glasses to someone in need in remote Sri Lanka for $2 and a whole set of school library books for $1,000.
